I purchased the book "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming" by Stephen LaBerge, and so far it is very good. LaBerge is one of the most important researchers of lucid dreaming and anything he has written I've seen nothing but good reviews about. His book not only gives great techniques for learning how to gain lucidity in dreams, but also gives a great explanation about the "science" behind lucid dreaming. I would recommend starting there. The book is reasonably priced and the author is reputible. Who knows what you're going to get on the internet...

I have passed this book around over 6 months now! It is calld Many Lives Many Masters! the best book you will ever read to help understand so many unanswered questions! Written by Dr. Briann Weiss. Imagine going to a doctor with so many phobias and having them cured! Understanding why certain people are toxic to you. Understanding why you are connected with certain people. This book and series of books will change your life and anyone you put it in the hands of. You will understand your purpose and the purpose of others in your life! Dreams will make sense to you and you will want to further explore yourself and everyone you know and will meet! Trust me on this! You will not be dissapointed! God Bless

http://ld4all.com has the most information about lucid dreams that I came across. It mentions OBEs as well so I'd imagine there'd be plenty for you to read about them.
