All my bills are set up for online payment to come out of my checking account a couple of days before the due date. That way, the money in the bank earns the most possible interest. Hang onto your money until you have to pay the bill - why not let it earn interest for YOU instead of the company you're paying? I also pay off my credit card in full by the due date every month, earning airline miles and not paying any interest. Along those lines, always ask yourself when you're tempted to buy something, whether or not you can "live without it." Think the answer through carefully, and you'll be surprised how many things you CAN "live without"!

Usually the day after I get my direct deposits, I have it planned which bills I will pay, then the rest goes into savings. I have the same bills every month, and I pay most of them online, so it's easy.
Utilities I pay as the bills come, online when possible.

If you pay your bills from an interest bearing account, then try to pay your bills near the due date, taking care to avoid any late fees. If possible, try to arrange your recurring bills near the same time and use electronic bill pay to save postage and increase the time funds stay in your account.
If you have the discipline and your creditors accept credit cards, pay with credit card to earn points/miles and then pay off your credit card in full just before the due date.

I pay my bills as soon as they come in.
I cancelled my credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, and other various store cards.
You are only borrowing money from these people who charge you high interest rates. You do not need to go into debt. Cancel all those unnecessary bills at once and pay only with cash or debit card/Mastercard-Visa on the things you need, not the things you feel you should have.

I like to pay them 10 days before the due date. This way, I know they have plenty of time to arrive and get paid on time.

5 days after I get them, pay with plastic and then earn cash, then pay plastic 5 days before is due. this way you are fine with bills, and creating good credit with your bank.
