I'm in a group called Trying To Conceive so I'm new with the abbreviations, but I do know what 2ww means. We have been trying to have a baby since October 2006. We've have 2 miscarriages in this time frame and 4 all together. My husband doesn't seem affected by this. I asked him why one day b/c it was really frustrating to me and he said he was hurting, but we didn't want me to see b/c he thought it would make me hurt even more. Plus, some guys are just in denial and think that it will go their way.

Men are just different and worry about different things. When you do finally find out you are pregnant, he'll get excited. My husband could have cared less during the 2ww ( 2 week wait ). He's finally excited because now it's something real. Best of luck to you!
P.S. For those that have gotten this far and are wondering about the acronyms, here are most of them:
2ww- 2 week wait
af- Aunt Flo, period
CM- Cervical Mucus.
Hope that helps.

Your husband has the right idea, relaxing is essential.
If you are nervous you release hormones that inhibit conception.
Naturally, if our brains and bodies are detecting too much stress, conception inhibiting hormones are released, because in nature stress = physical threat to pregnant women and newborns.
We aren't so removed from nature that logical biology doesn't still apply to us. Even though we live in a modern society, our bodies are still reacting as though we live naturally, with natural predatory threats.
Get some relaxation programs, do them. Ditch the repeated checks for period/temp...
Get lots of funny movies, laugh as much as possible, avoid all things stressful and have as much fun having sex as you can and you'll be pregnant before you know it.

Yep am in the same boat, same question went through my head too! Hey I'm even getting into trouble by spending too much time on here, Obsessing apparently! lol
Had to laugh when I told him things that he didn't even know.
I think it's a man thing because they don't understand. Don't let it bother you. If your not in tune with your body, how else are you meant to know!.

I am sure he is as scared and upset as you are hun, but men tend to hide it when they are worried or upset, for fear of scaring their partner. It is the whole "macho man hear me roar" type of thing that men grow up with. I can guarantee that he is not as stand offish as you think. Best of luck to you, an i am sure things will be fine.

you are using acronyms no one has heard before. Did you make them up or are you too embarrassed to use the real words.
Seems like this is related to reproduction or STDs.
If so, he is probably taking a pragmatic approach to the situation. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, you deal with that and take your next steps.
