Ignore the first answer... Hamsters love to play. Just take him out and let him run around your lap and where you are sitting. (Make sure that there are no hights from him to fall from)
Get him an exercise ball, they absolutley love these, and make sure you let him exercise in it every day.
When you take him out offer him treats everytime, a liitle fresh fruit or veg, nuts. yogurt drops etc... He will love you for it!! Have fun.

You could get that ball where they run in or buy this thing that looks like a tv and the hamster goes in there and their famous lol or make a lil play ground for it on your carpet/floor or let it run in ure bed

Remove hamster from shelter.
Play.
Get it hamster ball to run in.
Get it chew sticks to keep it occupied.
They'll play with anything.
Just let him crawl on you.

um wow...hamsters are not usually the playful type but u should try making a home made toy that u think it might play with..if not ..get another pet
