It's fuel injected, 2.8 v-6, 5-speed. Possible fuel injector problem? I'm not much of a mechanic.

I thought it was out of gas at first, so I put a couple of gallons in. I drove it the day before it wouldn't start. Another question I have is if it is the fuel pump, would it run if I gave it a push-start?

GM in tank fuel pumps suck. I know, because I own a 91' Chevy 2500 and had to replace mine.

Pressure test it. 8psi minimum, 12 psi optimal.

If you can't hear the fuel pump run for a few seconds when you switch the key on you need to check to see if there is power to the pump.If there is the pump may be bad and it is inside the tank. However if you have a truck and not a blazer it is easier to remove the bed instead of dropping the tank, especially if it's got a lot of gas in it....kind of heavy. There are only 4 bolts holding the bed on and then remove taillights and the wiring, then get someone to help lift it off....now you have access to the top of the fuel tank.If it turns out to be the filter look behind the power steering pump, that is where it's located on my 88 S-10 Blazer 2.8L.To change it you have to remove the P/S pump.

If the motor cranks but does not start a fuel problem could be the answer. When you turn the key to the start position, the fuel pump is energized. You should here a hum. If not then the fuel pump is bad or the fuel pump relay is not working as well. The relay is usually under the hood. Another way to check is to find the fuel injector schrader valve which is mounted on the fuel rail somewhere. If you take a small phillips screwdriver and press the center of the valve fuel should spray out or get a pressure gauge and hook it up to the valve. If you have determined that you are getting fuel to the engine then you need to look at if you are getting spark to your plugs.

Hmm, seem to be stuck on the throttle position sensor tonight and check your fuel pressure regulator. If the timing has jumped or the camshaft gear teeth have stripped or worn away then when you take the distributor cap off the rotor will not spin or it'll jerk and stop and jerk and stop. With the exception of Cadillac the GM cars have a aluminum and nylon camshaft gear. Some people say it is to make them run quieter but this makes no sense since Cadillac uses steel gears and the after market replacements are all steel gears. Go figure? The teeth on the aluminum/nylon camshaft gear wear away from hard driving and the chain eventually has nothing to bite on and then just slides over the cam timing gear. Good Luck!

Maybe the fuel pump. If you turn on the key you should be able to hear the fuel pump come on for a few seconds then go off. If you hear it then you need to check the fuel filter. It is under the truck connected to the frame. It may be clogged. Then fuel injectors should be checked

If you can`t hear the fuel pump running when the key is first turned on, then you need to have a mech ck the hot lead to pump for 12 volts.if ok its probably bad pump.if wire to pump has no power then its likely the oil pressure sw,it powers the pump after engine starts.also ecm cycles a relay for ten seconds when key is turned on to prime system.

spray starting fluid in to the intake where your motor gets its air if you spray while someone cranks the motor over if it starts it is fuel related fuel injectors is not known to be replaced but in some cases yes but try this and see where you get it could be a fuse for your fuel pump or fuel pump relay or clogged filter
