for a perfectly healthy individual who fakes a disability in order to live a life of luxury at taxpayers' expense, and if that person feels true remorse for his misdeed, how could he repay society and regain a modicum of decency and self respect?

Where should he go to turn himself in?

If word got out about this travesty of justice, and the individual chose to maintain his charade in order to keep the health insurance since his little scheme precludes his finding private health insurance, would a clandestine tactical force hunt him down and kill him?

I would first go after the individuals Physicians. You cant get disability unless you have some physical aliment, and a doctor saying your disabled. I think if people get got faking a disability they should have to repay the government plus do community service.

Repayment of any money you gained by this fraud! Possible criminal charges to follow (submitting false documents for filing, receipt of funds under false pretenses).

After your finances are in ruin, and you are facing criminal charges, look for the feds to get involved! Since you probably defrauded them while you were bilking the State ... same penalties at the federal level!

As a taxpayer, I don't really care if you "feel remorse for your misdeed" there is no way to repay society and regain "a modicum of decency", as for the self respect? That is up to you.

What? Do you think this is a Catholic Society? Just go to confessional, promise to be good and all is forgiven with a few "hail Marys"!

Faking a disability for profit is not just stupid, but sad! Want to purge your soul and make everything all OK? No chance!

It does not matter about the remorse of the matter______the person has committed a felony offense by claiming a false insurance claim. Then the person violated federal standards when he filed a disability claim.

The individual will probably receive state and federal sentences and plus have to restitution fee in order to pay the money back that he/she received.

Insurance fraud is a serious crime that is not taken very lightly---then to involve the government with a false claim is even more serious. The person might as well come clean because eventually he/she will be caught.

Tax payers don't pay any disabled person much?
I am disabled and yet not !!
I have many long term injury's that will never heal now... But I deal with pain !! Sometimes I feel like a nut, some times I don't !
I have a large Metal Plate with 4 screws in my neck ,2 in my knee, and heck I can really get going on the x rays that would shock you
5 years ago when I was commited to a wheel chair for life, along with a crushed solar plexus also called the xyphoide which was scraped and removed, all from a bad choice of life ! I had a broken neck, almost completely severed spinal nerve....
Heck my wife left me, as did all my family members...
I was alone broke on the streets, in a wheel chair and no one to turn to !! It's hard knowing your alone and no one cares !
Or the one that does can't do much except give you the insipration ya need !!
I threw away the chair and crawled....it was more than bad, but look at me now... I have friends !!! Man I was on the streets and about as bad off a person can get, I recieved not 1 penny and still do not !
krackedskullz with a com
alot of fun. alot of pain !!
What to do when you get weak and surrender to the pain??
Look Up Pray and Get Up Get Out And Have Fun !!!
I will download some x rays on the site to show you what some live with !!! We need more care !!!
I come from the streets so it was easier for me,
what of those who do not !
We need to care about Americans Today !!

It should be jail doing hard time. No such luck in Canadian jails. We have one of the largest 2 km. away. They are pampered, fed well and do nothing. I'd like to
see them cleaning up the roads, sidewalks and parks--under armed guard with
chains on. They live better than we do. They rarely feel remorse, these cheaters.
They need to repay everything with interest. If that means their homes and property are sold to repay the system---so be it.

First of all you don't get that much for disability. My hubby gets it and it is hardly the "lap of luxury." He gets the high end of the pay scale. If you were to turn yourself in you would have to pay back all the money and probably get some prison time for fraud. It is a federal offense.

It's things like this that make the world harder for everyone else. People try to get over on something, without any regard to what will happen to others on down the road, in the future for not only other kids coming into this world, but also for their own. Very stupid & selfish.

5 to 10 + 250,000 fines. Before you get sued by the insurance company.

Give him two Oscars!
But he isn't living in "luxury!"
And not at "taxpayers expense!"
He's just getting his own money back through restitution. Remember... he was extorted via paying taxes before he became "disabled..."
Just getting his money back...

All tax payers should be allowed to kick him in the nuts. All at the same time.

That'll teach him a lesson that jail couldn't.
