If you don't have job references, you can use neighbors and friends. Just be sure to contact them first, and ask permission. Sometimes you can use family members if they don't have the same last name as yours. That's a little "underhanded" but then, if you just don't have anyone else to use, it will work.

If you aren't using job references, be sure to explain this to whoever is doing the interview.

Good luck!!

Ask your best friend, a teacher, and an ex employer.....that is what they are looking for, but they will make exceptions, especially if this is your first job. Don't stress it. I rarely call the preferences numbers to see how this person did on their last job, etc.

Just show up to the interview with a list of friends/family numbers, but be full of enthusiasm towards the job. If you are full of enthusiasm, then the job is yours. :-)

Good luck.

ps, the letters of reccomendation are more for trade skills that have a certain amount of expertise, saying that "yes, this person can do this job without getting themselves hurt in the process." Either that or the professional market where where you went to college and what your gpa was made a big deal.
