Open My Computer, Right Click on your Hard Drive and go down to Properties. There it will show you the total, and the amount of free space.

If your hard drive is fully partitioned than you can see for each partition the amount of free space and used space by right clicking on the drive letter and selecting properties.
If your hard drive is not fully partitioned, the total capacity can be seen in BIOS, or by installing a software like PC Wizard, Everest, Fresh Diagnose, PartitionMagic (this last one allows you to also make partitions on the unformatted space).
Also, the total capacity of your hard drive is written inside your computer, on the hard disk drive label.

Click on my computer.
Your local c disk will come up.
Right click on it. A page will come up.
Click on properties at the bottom of the page and it will show the capacity, a round circle , showing Space used and free space.
This should do it. Good question for others to learn.

Easiest way > you can go to My Computer, put your mouse over Local Disk C: and something will show you your Byte capacity in a few seconds.. You can always try the boot menu.

Double click "My Computer" and then click "View" and "Details". Your hard drive size will be shown in Gigabytes (GB) on the right hand side opposite "C" Drive.
