i bought one of those wrinkly material skirts. (cotton) but now its kinda lost its wrinkles. i threw the tag away long ago on how to wash it. i think it involves twisting and tying in a knot at some point, but how do you dry it?

my first crinkle skirts where made from a crinkle fabric I had no trouble with those skirts, just washed and dry. Now I have skirts that I have to nurse !! I wash them then twist them, and hang them where it is airy. Then I put them in a stocking and ran in the dryer. I even used some spray starch on them. After they dry, I keep them in a stocking under the mattress. After I wear one I go straight home and twist them and back under the mattress. Sometimes I use string when it has really lose it's twist. Hard work but they are always crinkled!!!

You can tie them into several small knots. You can use rubberbands to gather the skirt together & then wash on a gentle or hand washables cycle. I alternate on both options, depending on my mood when I'm going the laundry.

DO NOT DRY THE SKIRT OR DRESS IN THE DRYER!!! Hang the skirt on a hanger & let it air dry. The heat of the dryer will remove the wrinkles/crinkles & it won't look as nice. As the skirt or dress dries, remove it from the hanger & reverse it to the other side (turn it over) so that it dries completely.

Belle's edit on 03-31-07: Untie the knots to prevent mildew. Remove the rubber bands if you use them instead. Allow the skirt or dress to air dry as stated above.

Hand wash your crinkle skirt, then after you rinse the soap out twist until you have no excess water left in, then untwist by giving your skirt a bit of a shake out then hang to dry. Never fails & I wear a lot of garments that have the wrinkle look & never had a problem. This applies to any wrinkle look garment: pants, skirts or skirts.

I have a shirt with that material.. I wash it as usual but I take it out of the washer and twist it and and let it dry. It is a summer shirt so I take it out side and let it sit in the sun and it is dry in no time. sometime I have had to twist it the opposite direction in the middle of drying to let it dry in the middle but it works to keep the wrinkles in it and that is what my tag said to do.

Wash your crinkle material clothes with other laundry as usual ( cold water ),....Remove from washer and twist, ( not too tight ) feed material into a knee high nylon hose and place over three or four bathroom towel pegs overnight, remove from hose and twist the other way re-insert into hose and let sit overnight again, Second day, remove from hose and put on hanger to complete drying. Works for me....

you just have to twist it up really tight and then tie it in a knot
when it's damp, and leave it like that till it dries.
