For there have been several times I have had white guys complain to me about mexicans, arabs and even italians. I'm thinking, "Is this suppose to make me feel confortable with you, I don't even know you". I wonder what they're saying about people like me behind my back. When I defend that particular minority or ethnicity and say "your're generalizing", they seem all shocked and embarrassed.

Yes, happens alot. I am Caucasion, but I turn around and answer them in Un-Chinese (I memorized my fav dish at a Chinese restaurant and the orders that the manager yells out to get the dish made . hehe) and shake my finger at them before walking away. Works every time. They change to different shades of pink and red and start mumbling something or another and I get on with my day knowing I have set another idiot straight. ;)

I have had strangers criticize the Native Indians at a function that was actually being held on a reserve, and they were not being specific about one they were directing it at all of them. I am Sri Lankan and I live in Canada and have done so since I was 5 years old.
These were Canadians as far as I know , but Canadians are a whole bunch of nationalities so I cannot get specific. The comment that they made was that they found Indians to be rude, dishonest, greedy and drunks. I told them that the ones I knew were kind, funny, friendly and hard working. Then I asked them what they were doing at this function when they had such a low opinion of the race especially since they were dishonest in their eyes. They told me that they were there for the money , LOL.. the function we were all at was BINGO ...I said that then she must be very greedy herself if she was only there for the money and nothing else. Noone should judge a whole race on the actions of a few. Nice to know that you feel the same way....sorry for my answer ....I do tend to go on and on ........and on and on ...lol take care.

I had similar situation except it was an immigrant complaining about white people, I went through a drive through once and the guy working is of middle eastern descent, the people in the car in front of me were white... well the people pull off and then the worker comes to wait on me and he says " I get tired of all these white *** people coming here wanting to talk to me, I don't want to talk to them they can't be trusted." I was shocked and he was really pissed off... well he saw my shocked expression and then he points to me and says "don't try to act like you don't know what I am talking about, because I know that you know exactly what I mean." Well I was speechless I just got my stuff and drove out of there

Yeah, I have which is funny because I'm mixed. Most people think I'm Mexican or Puerto Rician (I'm not) so they say some choice words about white and black people to me. Especially older people, I don't know why. I just smile and tell them I'm half black & white myself and the color literally drains from their face. It's pretty funny.

I think in any situation, people want to feel like they belong or something. If they bring up a gripe, they'll think you have something in common because who doesn't like to complain? It's a stupid logic but, there ya go. Bigots aren't known for their intelligence.

I live in England, I'm black, a white guy came up to me and said
"Man I f****ng hate Asian P*kis, I don't mind n***ers, so you're OK.."
I wondered like, was that supposed to make me feel comfortable with the guy, I had never met the guy and he had just let rip with this racist BS and then gone on to act like I'm supposed to share this hate he has for Asian people while simultaneously calling me the 'n-word'
This happened in broad daylight in the city centre!

Some people are shocking!

Yes and I did not appreciate it! I really detest miserable people! If a person is not hurting themselves or others, I could care less what that person says or do. I am African American and I know how it feels to be generalized. It is very hurtful, degrading, and wrong and I would not wish that type of treatment on anyone.
