Dang, you really have a problem there! Even in my town, that just started to allow sale of alcohol in the last 5 years, we can buy on Sunday (Yep we are a little slow here, we just recognized the 21st amendment 5 years ago!)

If the country were uniformly Christian, then maybe not allowing alcohol sales on Sunday might make sense. But we ain't all Christian! Some people observe a day of worship on Saturday, some on Sunday, some do not observe a day of worship at all! Prohibitions on alcohol sales are a throwback to the days of "we know best, we are your government, do as we say". Let that liquor flow, 24/7!

So what is the basis for it not being legal on Sundays? Does it have something to do with a certain religion? I think it's silly.

We can purchase liquor here 7 days a week. Weed should be legalized too.

Yea, i think its an archaic law for sure. I know there used to be dry counties here where I live and nothing could be purchased in them at all. But that's changed allot over the last 5 years and now I don't think there is on even around me. I hate the 3.2 law. I love beer, but prefer the micro-brewery beers which are all above 3.2. I think its a matter of time where you are, and it will change.

Well, then the people of your community have spoken through their chosen representatives. If your community really feels strongly enough that it wants to make a beer run on Sunday, then it should do so by electing people who feel the same way they do. (It'd be a really fun platform to run on too! ;-)

The best part about this country is that local autonomy that each state and community have. They get to decide for themselves what is best them on certain things, which when it comes to things as menial as alcohol sales dates, is as it should be.

They sell beer and wine in about every convenience store in NH 15/7. Only hard liquor is not sold on Sundays, though the liquor stores on the turnpike may be open! Ours are state owned and run, and run well though those in business want to get their grubby little hands on the business!

We don't have a problem with it. I know some states like mass you have to buy it at a private liquor store and you are at their closing whim I guess.

I think prohibitions inevitably cause their own bootleggers, so I don't have a problem with buying beer on Sunday. However, legislators are in a more difficult position, especially if most of their constituencies are of a church-going persuasion and either vote or donate to their campaigns...

It's not legal here in Indiana either.

Stupid law, especially as they'll allow restaurants/bars to sell alcohol on Sunday as long as they serve food. So, it's perfectly fine for me to drive to a bar, get drunk, and drive home if I avoid getting picked up for a DUI, but it's not legal for me to go to a store, buy a bottle of alcohol, bring it home and drink it there?

Buy enough on Saturday so you have something to do rather than go to church on Sunday. Let the religious crybabies have their day.
