I think that this is crap. Lots of people go to the beach all times of the month. Plus your grandpa should not even know if youre on your period at the time.

It is true unfortunately. Sharks can smell one drop of blood from a mile away.
They think it's an injured fish and go after it, Because they are extremely stupid, they can't tell the difference between you and a dying fish. They won't eat you but they can take a huge chunk of flesh out of you big enough for you to bleed to death.
I wouldn't do it. I always just splash around in the surf that's too shallow for a shark to swim into.
Another safety tip about sharks, Don't wear swim suits that are shiny or glittery, They think it's a fish because so many fish have shimmering scales.

Yes blood attracts sharks from 100's of miles away, If you want to get into the water then get in where they have a net. Knee deep doesn't matter. You'd be amazed how much shallow water sharks can get in.

Grandpa gives good advice, don't listen to your hubby, stay out of the water. unless you want to be a sharks next meal, you won't always be on the rag,the blood will go out to the deep water and bring the sharks into the shallow water

LMAO...
a) your grandpa is full of s h i t... however, sharks ARE attracted to blood.
b) you are a gullible fool.
Sharks that might attack don't swim at depths of 2-3 feet. And the ones that do swim there, won't attack once they find out what's actually going on.
As long as you aren't using the waves to take you 100 yards out... which is the best part about the ocean, you'd be missing out.... I'd say you'll be fine.

I'd wait. If you're menstruating and swim, you're more likely to get cramps and if the waters are shark infested, they can smell blood in an instant.
Listen to your grandpa, not your husband.

Its true a shark can smell a drop a mile away. Also you shouldn't go to the zoo unless you want special attention from the monkeys.

You can go in the water. Blood attracts sharks but not that little amount. You have to wear a tampon though
