Oh, I don't think I want to see a photo thanks... and there are unlikely to be any doctors answering your questions here... they are all too worried about the risk to their Professional indemnity insurance policies to answer questions like this online without a billing address!
My experience is ~ always use a clean new razor and you need to soak the area in very warm water for a while before you start, then use lots of lathering soap and take it very slowly and carefully.
If this is a freshly shaved pubic I have treated a minor irritation with calomine lotion. This normally helps me relieve the swelling caused by irritation.
If I had an itch and just finished shaving, I think it is unlikely to be an infection.... If it is a day old or so... then I wouldbe more concerned of the liklihood of it being an infection and I would treat the area with an antiseptic ointment.
If it started to show puss ~ I would see a doctor.

You might have shaved hard i.e. pushing razor against the direction of the hairs. Better to trim next time, and also apply some soft after shave to avoid infection. Careful, it'll hurt a little. It also itches after 1/2 days as the hairs grow and poke in the skin. if that is so, then it will be alright after 3/4 days.

If there is serious swelling, you could have picked up an infection.
If it gets worse, go to a doc.
If not, it should subside as your hair grows back.
DON'T SCRATCH! That and using a dirty razor is how you pick up infections.
Oh, also, if you do it again, shave with the hair growth, not against it. You don't get quite as close a shave, but you don't suffer itch and razor burn for days after. Also, ALWAYS use a new good quality razor. NO bics, go triple blade or forget it.
BTW, good on you for being considerate enough to be smooth for her/him.

Get some Tend Skin lotion for that. You aren't supposed to shave it all off if you are a guy. You are supposed to shave the balls with an electric shaver. You have made a tragic mistake. Women are not crazy about a bald eagle. The swelling will eventually go away on its own. Try using baby lotion down there if you can't get Tend Skin lotion.

you need to quit shaving because you have irritated the skin. just trim the area next time. don't pick or pop any of the ingrown hairs.
