Now that I am pregnant I am trying to figure out when is a good time to tell my boss that I am pregnant? I am going to have to tell him soon cause everyone at work will eventually see the signs and notice I am running to the bathroom constantly. I have already started running to the bathroom constantly but I have just made excuses that I am sick. I have only been at this job for 2 months and am a month pregnant so that makes it harder to tell them, cause I like my job and the management is really careing otherwise.

Just tell him. Ask for a minute and say "Hey, I just thought you should know I'm pregnant now. I'll still be working unless something comes up. Just thought you should know because there may be some appointment that might require me to take a few hours off every now and then.

If management is caring like you say, it won't be a problem. Besides, I don't think there is much they can do. Don't forget to study up on the Family Medical Leave Act for after the baby is born. It allows you to take time off. It's without pay, but the time is there. The law applies to the daddy too.

You need to tell your boss soon so that your boss can find someone to fill in while you're on maternity leave. If you just spring it on the boss later they may simply hand you your walking papers when you take your maternity leave. If you will take a look at the contract you signed to get the job you have you'll see a "minor" blurb in there about keeping human resources apprised of any major changes in your life such as getting married or ahem...pregnancy. That's usually standard policy for most employers, YOU signed the papers and if you don't comply well you can get fired. And it will hold up because all they would have to do is bring out the contract with your signature.

Don't tell them yet. Even if they notice the signs, they probably won't ask you. Tell them at the end of the first trimester. It's kind of customary to tell people then, when the risk of miscarriage has decreased. When you tell your boss, you should have a definite plan worked out...not just "I'm going to have a baby! Yay!!!" but, "I'm expecting a baby that's due on (add your due date). I really enjoy working here, and I'm planning to work until two weeks before my due date (or whenever you've planned on), taking (however many) months off, and then returning to work." That way they know what to expect from you. Even if your plans change later, it won't be your fault, and you'll sound like you've thought everything out.

Plan on taking at least six weeks off work when the baby is born...most doctors won't release you to return to work until six weeks after you've given birth.

You should tell anyone who is affected as soon as you know for sure. I don't know why women think this should be a big secret. If you wait til you show, then your boss will know that you have been hiding from him. That will make him not trust you. The boss will think back on all those lame excuses and it won't be that hard to put your little act together. Most bosses are familiar with all kinds of BS, so you are not going to pull anything past him. Stop trying to be clever, and just be honest. Did you know that it harms the development of your baby when you lie?

You should wait until about 12 weeks. That is when the riskiest part of pregnancy is over.
Unless you have bad morning sickness, then you should tell them sooner so they will understand what is going on
