I do the bicycle exercise, and about 4 months later, you can see them very clearly without having to flex, or suck in my gut.

Lower abs take longer to form, (for me anyways.)

for lower, I usually use a decline press and put some weight on the bar to stop it from rocking, and do leg-ups.

good luck, and even if you dont' see results right away, stick with it.

Build them like the pectorals or lats. Do low reps 7-12, about 8 sets. In your local gym there should be several machines to hit your abs. Do high weights so you barely achieve your targeted rep numbers. Go to bodybuilding.com you will find several exercises for building abdominal mass. If your going for mass be sure to eat, and be sure to give you abs plenty of rest

Here are a pair pattern chest workouts: a million) Flat Barbell Bench Press: two units of five to 7 reps Incline Dumbbell Press: two units of five to 7 reps Wide-Grip Dips: two units of five to 7 reps two) Incline Barbell Bench Press: two units of five to 7 reps Wide-Grip Dips: two units of five to 7 reps Flat Dumbbell Press: two units of five to 7 reps All units will have to keep inside the five-7 rep variety and will have to be taken to whole muscular failure. Write down the main points of every exercise you participate in and consciousness on progressing in both weight or reps from week to week. Hope that is helping. Now head to the health club!

You should invest in a personal trainer. I have great results in about six months. Best thing I have ever done, and I feel great.
