Well at one point in time you could "Steal" the video's from the websites. I used the following methods to capture the videos.
Load the page in the browser.
Click VIEW/VIEW SOURCE
When the source ode loads in your Notepad, do a Text search for "WMV" "AVI" "MPG" "MPEG" "MOV" and "AIF"
These are common Video Extensions. Now hopefully the source code will show you the video's filename and if your lucky, the PATH to the file. For example, goto www.sat-ops.com and click on the skull, you will enter the site and there will be a small video. Try my method and see how easy it is to grab the video. In this example, the file is called SuspenceAd1.wmv and if you add the website url to the filename, you should get the video itself rather than the html page that it lives on. (...sat-ops.com/suspensead1.wmv).
Now you can save the file to your hard drive if permitted. If not, then I go one step further. I open a notepad and I enter in Click Here. Then I save it as TEST.HTML and then I run that file, I get a browser with "CLICK HERE" displayed. Now instead of clicking on it, I right click and I click on SAVE TARGET AS which then presents me with a Download Dialog box.
Hope this helps. Oh, if it's a google video, good luck......

http://keepvid.com/ works pretty well for me, although you need to download a free .flv player to watch the saved videos.
