In terms of the content of the medicine, the lower 'potencies' are stronger. In homeopathy, higher potencies are stronger in medical effects. 1X means a dilution of ten times, 10X means 10 raised to the power of ten times dilution.
The confusion comes because in all other systems of medicine like allopathy and ayurveda, herbal medicines etc. the stronger the dose, the more is the medicinal action. But in homeopathy, Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, the founder discovered a truly unique behavior. The medicines become more powerful as they are more diluted, but this dilution is not just a simple mechanical dilution. It is called potentisation and is achieved for solid substances through a process of 'trituration' with milk sugar and for liquid substances, by a process called 'succusion' in alcohol.

The less concentrated a homeopathic remedy is the strongest dose it is considered. So 100x would be stronger than 10X and 10x would be stronger than 1x

Just one more note: I would HIGHLY suggest finding a homeopath to go to as an individual treating himself
at home should really only be treating "acutes" as they
call them ie. first aid, ear aches, sore throats etc. Anything chronic should be left to a trained professional. Also,
for home use--its always been suggested to me not to
give or take more then a 30X, try a 6x for example first.
(in a round about way like take 1 regular Tylenol to see if it works before taking 2 T-3's know what I mean?)

** Oh yeah also don't be confused by the X or C 's you see they are simply different measurement x's have been diluted by 10, and C's by 100 (and c's would be the more potent-because the less "mother tincture" in the remedy the better. Hard to grasp at first ---Homeopathy is just SO COMPLETELY opposite to anything most of us have been raised with.

the strongest is the 1x.
see what they do is start out with something really strong and as they move on to weaken it , thats how they get the 10x...
it's 10x weaker then the 1x.
1x is the purest and 10x is farther from it.

hmmm...I know I know this!!! Sorry, I'm tired, I can't think right now. The first thing that comes to mind is 200c...but I could be wrong, I'd have to go ask my mom, but I'm to lazy to get up. Sorry.
