I just answered a pretty disturbing question (asker: Sarah). She got pregnant but doesn't want her boyfriend in her life anymore (he cheated on her), so she wants to know if she falsely accuses him of rape, will the authorities know she is lying and will she still get child support?
Now, I know that people do these kinds of things but I guess it never really dawned on me how retarded some people can be. She's going to have a baby!
So I guess my question is: could YOU ever falsely accuse someone of rape under any circumstances?

I, obviously, could NOT. I know a few guys who deserve some bad things, but not THAT. I can't even imagine ruining someone's life like that.

I saw that question too, at first I thought she was joking, but after reading the entire question, I just got angry. I don't understand how someone could even consider doing that. Personally, what upsets me the most, is the fact that she is going to bring a child into the world, she can't control herself, how will she raise a child? The ex and the unborn child have my deepest sympathy. To answer your question, no, I could never falsely accuse someone of anything.

In this case, the asker of the original question, Sarah, would have to be pretty freaking stupid to do such a thing if she ever wanted to receive child support because, obvioiusly, how in the heck could he pay it if he is in jail for 8+ years?

In theory, she could claim rape; however, depending on HER history and relationship with the fella (after interviewing witnesses, then the police and D.A. will see her for what she is, a spiteful, scorned woman and not pursue any charges or might even possibly pursue charges against her for filing a false report.

As forensics could include any computer use and history, a forensic look at her activity would show her for who she is.

I was always surprised that some woman would try that. Today's physical evidence tests are so good it is difficult to make such an accusation stick.

There are some serious consequences to people that make false statements to police. In addition to criminal charges for the false accusation, Sarah opens herself up to civil damages and possibly having her ex boyfriend going for custody of the child.

That "Sarah" person is a crazy ***** no wonder why her boyfriend supposedly cheated on her. I hope she rots in prison and gets her child taken away for even thinking such an evil thing.

no.once you start a lie then you have to keep building on it in order to cover yourself and eventually you will trip up your story and get caught. It is far easier to go through life telling the truth so that you do not have to look over your shoulder(so to speak) all the timeLife is tough enough as it is without compounding it with lies.If you ALWAYS tell the truth then you will NEVER have anything to hide. And you will find out that many people can"t handle the truth. Why belittle yourself.

Never. I can't imagine anything that would make me ruin a guy's life for something he didn't do.

I don't go for revenge. It always comes back to you in the end.

It happens all the time. That's why physical evidence is SOOO important in rape cases. Great question.

Oh, I typed a long answer to that and before I could hit 'send' she deleted the question.

To answer YOUR question, no human with a conscience could do something like that.

If she does and it is determined that she did than she can be prosecuted and arrested. In many jurisdictions, falsely accusing another of a felony crime is itself a felony.
