I had the same problem, and there really isn't much you can do but have the dr induce your labor. but please don't let them let you go to far pass your due date cause I was 16 days pass mine and my uterus started to separate from the placenta and I almost lost my baby. I asked why it happen and I was told because I was so overdue

I'm sorry honey, but there really isn't much more you can do. Nature has to take it's course. I know you are miserable, but unless there is fetal distress or your doctor feels your placenta is deteriorating, she will wait until you dilate more. If this is your first child, you can easily go a couple of weeks past your due date. It would be very hard on you if you are induced early; I know it is miserable waiting; I had a 11 lb. baby and she had to be taken by section because I would not dilate. The only reason my dr did that was because she was so big and she did not want her to gain any more weight.
Good luck, and try to relax!

first of all need not to worry
how many days you past the due date is important question?
second babies do take avrage term of 40 weeks, but if delivered in38th week or 42week are also considered normal
the best thing you can do is continue walking, and have sex, coz it is a natural thing that will help you drop the cervix (walking will do it physically and the spermilicin hormone present in semin will help for the same to drop the baby down)
if you doc is on vacc for 4 days, dont worry and dont take risk going for any other suggestion regarding medicens and castor ( castor might cause you pain, and it might lead to loosmotions and abdominal cramps........... you will need the dotor at that time, coz it may lead you to deliver the baby)
i would suggest you to
WALK
SEX
AND BE HAPPY
AND DONT WORRY
THINGS WILL BE FINE

Most doctors will not let you go past 42 weeks. Have you tried nipple stimulation? Please DONT drink castor oil, It can cause the baby to have a stool while still inside you, it can cause one nasty infection and many other problems for the baby. You can also try climbing stairs and squats - just dont over tire yourself you will need energy in labor! I know what your going through Im due any day and have pre-eclampsia and none of this is working for me either!!! It will be over soon enough!

I had the same scenario and chose a c-section to get it over with! My doc was going out of town to a medical meeting and if I didn't have my baby then, she would have been gone and some stranger would have delivered my son. She did my the c-section and left town, but I was okay with that. At least her partners in the practice checked on me!!
Whatever you choose, I wish you the best of luck! I'm sure everything will turn out the way you want it. Lucky you with a new baby on the way, it's going to be so much fun. Best of luck to you and take care.

Don't worry about it. There will be another doctor in case yours is on vacation. Try going for a ride in a small motorboat.
Have the boat driver "jump" over the waves a little bit. That worked on my ex. The next day she had a boy.
True story.

I hate to be negative, but the caster oil is an old wives tail that has no medical backing to it. When the baby is ready to come, it will come. I know you are excited to have your baby out but the baby is normally the one to make that choice. If the baby has checked out OK , the doctor will normally let you go a couple weeks over. If the doctor waits any longer than that, I would ask him to refer you to someone who will induce you. ( Then the doctor will more than likely do it themselves)

I was past my due date also and wouldnt dialate even with medication or the other home remedies so i opted to have a c-section i had my baby 20 minutes later and the surgery was not bad at all . You can even stay awake and see ur baby when he/she is born if you want to. I was glad i had the c-section . My girl wieghed 11lbs and 3 oz and she was breech she would have killed us both. Any way good luck and congrats.

don't do the whole caster oil thing i did it and it didn't work at all plus it tasted foul.
I also did everything you did but alas my boy was a stubborn mule. Your bubs will come out when he/she is ready. I know playing the waiting game sux but trust me the more you want it out the more the bubs wants to stay in. well that was my theory because when i stopped doing such things to get him out he just came out on his own....
ok enough of my babble, i hope you have a great experience giving birth

Try borage/starflower oil. If you put a couple of drops next to your cervix it can help to soften it! You can use an oral sringe. My sister did this and had a show the same night!
