How far away do I need to be with a PSG1 and gain a headshot to enter the history books? If I shot a moving target through the eye at 4km, would that put me into the history books?

Shooting someone at a distance never makes you famous. I am a historian and I still don't know who made the longest or best shot till today. That is of no importance for history.
What might put you in books is the target. Shooting Kennedy wasn't that hard but L.H. Oswald became a footnote in history books.
And keep in mind the sniper is only a footnote the target is the historical person. So shooting doesn't make you famous but maybe known.

Mother Theresa never fired a single shot during her long life, but she is in history books. Same with Gandhi. And Teddy Roosevelt made a famous act by NOT shooting the bear, which became known as the teddy-bear ever since.

Foolish little man, its not the distance that makes you famous, its the target; and then its the targets fame that gets recorded in history books. The shooter is just a footnote.

Dude...Here's what you do and I guarantee you will go down in history....There is only one way a shot like that would make you famous...If you are the target.......Just imagine...Start out running and figure out how to shoot yourself in the eye at 4km..Maybe a string and mirror just like Annie Oakley!!!!!!!!!!!

If you shot a human being, no one would ever dare to defeat that record and I think that would put you in history books(and in jail).
If you shot an animal, i guess you still will.

I'd say that pulling your bottom lip over your head would suffice.
