I was just reading the other question asked about what superpower would one want.
Flying seems to be very popular.
I also noticed that one user said they had dreams where they would fly and gradually learned how. This exact same thing happened with me.
Anyhow. Why do you think humans are so attracted to the idea of flight? I know in my dreams it is incredibly empowering. What do you think?

This is the only way to communicate with you., BECAUSE THE COMMENT BOX AFTER CHOOSING THE RIGHT ANSWER WON'T TAKE ALL I HAVE TO WRITE. Thankx for your answer.

Obviously I am not racist, or I wouldn't have dated the amount of native women that I have dated.

I am just disappointed because their was a few that could have turned into great relationships, however, I would take them out, etc, and treat them well, and, be a nice guy and everything, and they always seem to go back to some dude who has no job, sells drugs, or comes off as a bad boy,

Don't tell me you don't know what I mean either, because you know what I mean.

I shouldn't be making "SWEEPING" statements, but it is my experience, so I am not lying about it, and god forsake you give her a compliment, or treat her really nice.

I know this is the way society is going in general, the more you give, the more you become a nice guy, etc.

But, it is ridiculous,

Maybe I am just meeting up with the wrong native women.

And the ex-boyfriends are often STALKERS,

The guys are jealous as hell,

Anyway, I am not racist,

Just thought I'd tell you that,

And I do take time to try to learn the culture, but often alot of native women I meet don't care about their culture,

Maybe, I am meeting the wrong native women?????

I'm ready to give up on native women, even if I am initially attracted to them,

I know women of other cultures have problems as well, society is changing, but I shouldn't be lam blasted for seeing the facts as I see them...

Women in general seem to go for these bad boys that don't hold jobs, but talk gansta talk, it is ridiculous.

I am a NAYSAYER and I nonetheless contend that designing and generating those abominations nonetheless beats watching for sincere paintings. We were down this avenue earlier than and some of these initiatives were for nought. Granted; the Terrafugia Transition is an overly intriguing gadget and I have noticeable the video and the ''retouched'' image of it flying so much larger with a chase airplane. And appear at Paul Moller and his Skycar. The Exchange and Securities Commission has close to close him down. He continues to be allowed to head after funding cash however they've stopped him from taking deposits on his 'pipe dream'. Sorry; however those cars simply aren't useful. They are too heavy to bring an entire supplement of gasoline and they're easily too problematic to carrier economically. And I may not even get into the complexities of attempting to determine who's going to keep watch over those matters. By the time the FAA and the bottom shipping experts get their act in combination plane shall be out of date and we will be able to all be making use of 'transporters' to get round. Only the enormously naive assume to look the skies full of those cars any time quickly..

Greetings from the realm of dusk. The idea of flying have always been the fancy and passion of human beings, humans always tend to look skywards, wonders about the stars, wishes upon shooting stars, etc. .., I view this as an internal drive, a homing signal or perhaps an instinct that lies suppressed in our being a human. If you look closely, civilizations after civilizations, greatness was measured most ardently by height - pyramids, towers, and lately skyscrapers keep on outdoing themselves for the title of "the highest". Even the fascination to fly has become equated to science during the space race in the 60's and 70's and still continues up to now. This drive for "elevation" is perhaps because the capacity to fly was the only thing missing on humans to make them the greatest and mightiest of all there is in this planet. You tend to wish for what you do not or perhaps what you cannot really do. This is perhaps is the reason why all humans dreams and aspires to fly.

Flying represents freedom as everyone knows. No man will try to be caught in all the prospects of life. There is only one thing you can do from it, & that is fly from it, go a 1000 miles away from it.

2 or more flying birds also represent peace. People therefore also want peace. Peace means the inner stillness or calmness that brings you a feeling of serenity. People think the bird to be a peace symbol. It brings us inner stillness when we see it.

Flying also means that the whole world is below us. We try our best to achieve something in all fields. We defeat people when we go a rank higher. The defeated symbolises the world. You represent the flying person.

Normally humans put the emphasis on these above points but the other aspects are that:-
1)they see the air force pilots in some show & wan't to imitate them, everyone can not be an air force pilot so, in order to fulfill their wish.. fly.
2)they see the eagles & get fascinated towards their gliding and flying speed & want to imitate them.
3)they wan't to loiter & play all day therefore, they wan't to fly.

Your dreams are incredibly empowering to which I agree. The flying part can bring someone achievements, peace & freedom.

I have had dreams of flying, even understand the theories of flight. Never have taken a step toward learning to fly, though.
I have had these dreams since I was very young. I think they represent control of your own freedom or destiny, if you will. Taking you away from the restraints of the mundane and average.
I think these dreams have lead me to something my wife calls an A Type personality. In my mind there are two types of education. One type that creates followers. The other type are pushing the bounds and limitations of education into the area of discovery.
From this dream of flight I can have my head in the clouds and my feet planted firmly on the ground, in full control.

Im the one who asked that other question. I have had dreams of flying too. You know that mario game where he has the magic cape. I had a dream I had that cape; I could spin around and run then fly up in the air and keep doing that swoopy thing he does in the game. It was one of my vivid dreams. It was a long time ago I had that dream but I still remember it very well. Flying would be my 2nd choice in super powers.

I love to watch the boeings and airbusses pass over my house. Every time a plane or helicopter passes over I want to see how it flies. My friends say I'm crazy because they can't understand why I get so wacky about planes. I've been to many military airshows in my life and managed to sit in the cockpit of a Gripen fighter jet. COOL!!

I have once flew in a small Cessna. After take off, the pilot asked me if I want to control the plane. For a full 5 minute I was in full control of the plane!! Hell, I even manage to turn it in another direction with pilot instructions. Was not to difficult.
I also flew in a glider once as a passenger. That was bloody awesome, because it is absolutely silent up there. You have tremendous amount of freedom with gliders, because it is highly maneuverable. I did however get a little sick!

I can also drive up to a hill in our neighbourhood. From there I have a view of the whole city (Cape Town) and planes pass low over your head. You can then follow it to the runway and see it touch down if you have binoculars.

Although I love flying, I have never dreamed about it

good answer eks_ i agree to some extent. i have had a few dreams of flying myslef, but unlike others in my dreams i get this incredible power dweeling withing me and these giant, angel like wings that are black shoot out of my back and i lift away, this only happens when a demon i think, was trying to take me to hell saying it was my time, but by me growingwings and escaping him it shows to myself that no one can control my life or my destiny, there are no higher authorities in life. reality is what exists and life is the only thing we know for sure is real. by flying your showing that your in control over yourself and you can choose which way you want lifeto go, dont let anyone tell you "god" has a plan or your destiny is set. follow your dreams, nothing is impossible

I believe flying represents freedom. Freedom to do what the individual really wants. Think of dreams where you may have flown through the sky...it's amazing.
