Im a 25 year old male in CA USA, for about 7 years when i go to sleep at night I see things when my eyes are closed, I see my surroundings almost as i normaly would in the swirls of my phosphenes. motion is easiest to see, like waying my hand infront of my face, but I've seen other things as well (like my cat jumping on the bed). I havent really told anyone before for fear of them thinking i was crazy, but its becoming a problem. I have cronic insomnia and not being able to turn out the visial world is making it harder. has anyone heard of anything like this? it looks like fuzzy shapes only slightly lighter then the normal phosphene swirls. motion is easier to see, and things seem to leave a trail like in thoughs wierd 60s and 70 movies. I've even gotten visials of things you cant normaly see, like the studs in my wall. I dont do drugs or anything like that, and have no idea what this is. if anyone has any idea, please let me know.

thanks
Nathan

I've had this happen some too on occasion, though it happened with me more when I was younger.

I think it might be some sort of latent sensitivity to static electricity or magnetic fields...after all, most modern biologists do consider the retinas of your eyes, the parts that decode light into what we see, as a form of *extended brain tissue*. And we know that the brain can be sensitive to electricity and magnetism.....

And....*sharks* have been shown to do this sort of thing with the "crest Neurons" of their heads, necks and "faces", they can detect electricity through the salt water and spot prey hiding in undersea dirt and sand.

So yeah, this sort of thing isn't unheard of....it's just not been studied so much in people because there's more of an interest in "disproving" than there is in "study" on some of these topics, if you know what I mean.

I hope this helps, and thanks for your time. ^_^ Good question!

I can see some of those things too. It doesn't get so bad that I can't sleep though. What you're actually seeing is through your third eye. You can close your two eyes, and still have that third one open.

Meditate before you go to bed, or in bed. Calm yourself down (to the point of TOTAL relaxation) and visualize closing your third eye when you go to bed. The more you practice, the easier it gets. Good luck!

What's the chance that more than 3 people have the same odd problem to a point? I guess it's better than I thought! You're not alone by any means.

Nathan my friend, you are not crazy, you are gifted. I realize that it can be a nuisance when you are trying to get some sleep. This happens to me also. It starts with blue and red dots with a black background, then start to see images, but not necessarily in the room, but aware of what is going on in the room. My suggestion(s) are to "roll" with it and see where it takes you. This is the beginning of "time travel or astral body experiences". Since you do not partake in any "drugs" , try to have some of your favorite music playing---possibly headphones. Also try to find and read "Primer" by Edgar Cayce. It will assist in meditation and reaching different plains of consciousness. Don't worry, its not a "demonic" book. I would also suggest taking up martial arts. Please start by walking through your house backwards in the dark. If you go outside during the day, close your eyelids and look at the sun---you see red don't you! You might have a gift to help out the blind---like Helen Keller.

1. Go to the eye doctor, maybe your eyelids are thin or something.
2. Test it out. Ask someone to hold up a number of fingers while your eyes are closed and see if you can count them.
3. Don't jump to the conclusion that you have mutant x-men powers so quick. All mundane explanations should be investigated first.

I've also had this happen. Not as much recently, but on occasion it still happens. You're not crazy (or if you are, then I am too. LOL)

this is normal but, dont look at light before you close your eyes, also think in your mind another object and you will see it
