I my self think there is a portal to an alternate universe, which is why some people make it through and some you never see again... I believe we live in a multiverse...

Didn't U ever hear about the time it rained thousand and thousand of maggots? Yes it happened in 1968 in New Mexico or the time it rained Sushi (fresh fish) in a small town in England or the time a sea turtle came falling down from the sky! I am sure that U have heard of a Typhoon, Cyclone, Tidal Wave or Tsunami? Well, there U have it! These "MONSTERS" are so big and powerful they can pick up ships and toss them around like they were toys! And then what happens next is they get stuck in and air pocket in the sky and well from then on I don't no the rest of the story, but it sure did sound good huh?

I think it is an area with a high level of volatility due to electrical storms and bad weather. That, and maybe people jump or 'disappear' in an attempt to escape the law.
Also, from reading about it in Wikipedia, there is a strong and warm current of five or six knots. That's a very strong and warm current, perhaps slowing down and destabilizing boats. In the event of a hurricane with a lot of cloud and steam, the velocity of the boat could be affected and it may even have to do with the concentration of heat and electromagnetic radiation in the area.

It has to do with the oil pressure and when It releases these bubbles it messes up planes and explodes boats. Watch the History or Discovery Channel they talk about it on both of those sometimes
