I was in a rush and instead of ironing a new shirt I threw it in the dryer to get the wrinkles out. Problem is, I also threw in a dryer sheet and now my shirt has greasy stains all over it. A friend of mine said this also happened to her and she tried everything without ever being able to remove the stain. Any tips? (BTW, I am now a former dryer-sheet user! I am making the switch to dryer balls!)

Rewash adding a degreaser like $pic and Span to the shirt. It will take the greasy stains out.

Try rubbing some Dawn dish soap on the areas. It cuts through grease. You can also add some laundry detergent to the area along with the Dawn, rub well, then let it set for a little while, then wash in warm water. I don't use fabric softener sheets because I was once told that they coat your dryer & heating element. I use only liquid Downy softener, it softens better than the sheets, in my opinion.

For greasy Stains Place the stain face down on a paper towel, and go over the back with full strength liquid detergent or drycleaning solvent, using a clean white cloth , Launder as usual.

No matter how you end up fixing your shirt, make sure you write a letter to the dryer sheet manufacturer. Let them know what problem you had. I just about guarantee you they'll send you coupons for related products, like laundry detergent, etc. It's their PR department's way of "making nice."

I love my dryer sheets and this has never happened to me. I agree Dawn is the cure. If you really want to know email the makers of the dryer sheets you used. BTW if you use bounce it keeps the bees away.

I use chalk on grease spots as it "absorbs" any grease stains (before washing).
Since you have more than a couple, I would get baby powder and sprinkle it all over the spots. Wash the shirt again and they should come out.
You may have to wash it a few times, sprinkling the powder on the spots each time.

Try Shout! It seems to be the only thing that takes out grease stains.

DAWN DISH SOAP!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm telling you it works! any sort of grease stain i put dawn dish soap on it and rub it in....wash......and dry......the stain is gone! i have a major problem with my fabric softner.......not the sheets just the softener......if you pour the softener on your clothes and it hits directly on your clothes then it causes these spots!

good luck!
