They were. Lindberg was a good friend of Hermann Goering, who was a flying ace in WWI. He also wanted the US to remain neutral in WWII, especially against Nazi Germany. Ford was a sympathizer also, but it seems as if Lindberg suffered more from the backlash as did Ford. Charlie eventually moved to Tahiti, where he's now buried.

Ford was well known as an anti semite. If he didn't actually hate Jews, he sure didn't trust them. There was some connection between Hitler and Ford. Henry Ford supplied Hitler with motor vehicles before our entrance into the war. Hitler once visited the Ford exhibit and praised him. Lindbergh was impressed with the Nazi's and was against any attempt to help England. He said it was a lost cause and that Germany would conquer all of Europe. He was wined and dined by the Nazi's while in Germany. It cost Lindbergh the respect of a good many Americans. He was considered a traitor by some.

Known that for years. Ford may have been a clever inventor but he was a bright bulb socially or politically. Lindbergh was a dupe, once he found out what the Nazis were all about he jumped into the war with both feet. Some of the advances in long range bombing were his ideas.

It's not a rumor. They were Nazi sympathizers before the war began. Of course, when I first discovered this, it changed the way that I felt about them. But, in their defense, this was a time before WWII and noone knew what was to come.

Yes, the rumors are true.
It doesn't change the fact that the things they did were important. Especially Ford, Can you imagine how expensive cars would be now if they weren't made on an assembly line. Henry Ford pioneered the process and changed manufacturing forever.
I admire their accomplishments but I don't admire their politics. I wouldn't have been friends with either one.

Leni became an outstanding, ingenious, visually surprising filmmaker. I even haven't from now on some thing yet admiration for her as an artist. besides the indisputable fact that, as a man or woman i do no longer. i imagine his quote has been taken out of context. If his recording studio is called the "Fuhrerbunker" so what. i do not imagine "excitement branch" were Nazis both. i don't think that Bryan Ferry is a Nazi sympathizer depending on the quote and studio call yet no matter if he's, freedom of speech protects repugnant evaluations also. And, "artwork does no longer say sorry."

There is credible evidence to support both claims, especially Ford. I think Lindbergh was more of a dupe than a sympathizer.
