Some how it is good to be open minded to everyone, because being as such one will have a wide access to others minds . Allowing people to know more about you and the way you think, this in return will encourage them to be open minded also and there will be no lies nor hypocrisy.. Take it easy and make it easy for everyone. Once you are open you may be subject to criticism from others , from that you will have the opportunity to defend your opinions . If you succeed in convincing those who criticized you, you will maintain your opinions and if while discussing you can find that they can be right , thus u can enrich your mind with others' ideas that you found yourself wiser and more logic. Open minded means tolerance and the latter is a kind insinuation but it should be to a certain extent with some boundaries, I mean to an extant that yourself you feel you have to give it a break. When you feel your tolerance is being abused and not understood in the proper way you meant.

I think it's good to be open-minded but people can sometimes get that confused with never challenging others about their actions and beliefs.

For me, being open-minded is not dismissing something as wrong or stupid in an off-hand manner before I've made an effort to understand it but that doesn't mean never
expressing a negative opinion or asking a probing question.

You need to have empathy for others. You need to be able to imagine where they're coming from, but you also need to be wary of strangers, and sometimes even your friends.

It is, however, better to be open-minded. A lot of time we miss out on knowing some really neat people just because they look or dress different. If, on the other hand, we discover that these people's values are way off base and clash with ours, it's time to say, "See ya".

Choose your friends wisely. The people you run with have more influence on you than anyone else in your life.

That depends on where the open-mindedness leads. I believe it's always good to be open-minded about everyone's ideas, but it's also important to know when those ideas are fallacious.

Everyone is different. Some people you may not share interests with and some people you will. That's really what it all comes down to. Why judge someone until you have really talked to them or know what they are all about. You could really be missing out if you initially decide to just not like a person.

Good to be open to people, but don't forget to listen to the little voice inside of you that warns you about trouble. Be open until that little voice issues a warning, then trust those instincts and dial it back a bit. There is such a thing as being too open and too trusting when you don't follow those warning instincts.

"Firm, but flexible like a willow tree." You should be be proud and confident of your own beliefs and thoughts. However, when presented with evidence that contradicts your beliefs, change your beliefs so that they are right. So, in conclusion, open-mindedness is only good towards ideas that are can be proved. Otherwise, we'd be thinking the sky is falling the moment we hear that chicken.

Certainly it's good to be open minded to everyone, but that doesn't mean it's good to be approving and/or accepting of everyone.

It isn't wise to be open minded to everyone.
It takes a thoughtful mind to know when and who to open your mind to.

And remember not everything that goes through you mind doesn't have to come out of your mouth.
