It will work fine then freeze, then like a few minutes later it will move again, then freeze! It has fresh batteries. I am so annoyed, I can't do anything! It's frozen as I am writting this. And when it does move it moves like an inch then freezes. I even ran a virus scan, no viruses! And when it is not frozen it takes forever to click on something and get it to work!

I have a feeling I know the answer, but I'll give you one other thing to try first. Have you uninstalled and reinstalled the software that came with it? There is a longshot chance it might be a corrupted dll.

Ok that said, please don't shoot the messenger, but I think your mouse is dying. I had the exact same problem. When I looked closely I could see it wasn't communicating especially well, (the connection ranked low and it would take several tries of connecting the button on the mouse to the base, that would work for a few seconds then stop). BTW you have done that right? Press in the small button after pressing the one on the base?

Mine got to the point I would only work for a few seconds. Seems these wireless one, while MUCH more convenient than the wired ones are much more fragile and have a much shorter life. I got lucky with mine since it had a Good housekeeping guarantee so they gave me my $$ back since the replacement was double what I paid for it lol. So if it's not very old I'd complain to the store, but if it's more than a year at most, I'm afraid you will likely be shopping soon :(

Heck, they MAKE wireless ball mice?

Well, just try taking out the ball, and cleaning the rollers inside. After a while, they get caked with dust and lint, and won't roll like they're supposed to. That's the usual problem with wheel mice.

Do yourself a favor and get a Logitech Optical or Laser mouse.

Have you made sure that nothing is blocking your wireless mouse from the base (the part that is plugged into the tower)? Or have you accidentally let a sheet of white paper get under the mouse? (That has happened to me when I am researching stuff online and writing stuff down for reference later.)

Might sound a silly question but have you changed the batteries in the mouse?
