and the differece between a button accordion and a melodian?

'round my group we use these interchangeably (course we are kinda hicks and all. They work out to be the same except some put larger ones in a specific category. .. Hey I mean you hold 'e with two hands a harpoon thing and blow and suck That's the only real BASICs I guess.. They are all VERY close: you git ta blow heck out of 'em to get good sound. Might need one in a KEY ..easy done, start with "C' if you have no-one to ask or check with Check out a cool music store.

I was always under the impression that the U.S. as a rule referred to them as harmonicas and U.K as mouth organs. Both the same instument. Don't know what the difference is between accordian and melodian,unless the internal workings are different
