So I'm studying this thing in Sociology that talks about being gay. It says most people between the ages of 12 and 19 may think about the same gender, have sex dreams about the same gender, or curiously look at naked pictures of the same gender, WITHOUT being gay.

It says that at that age, it is just a curiosity thing, because most people in that age bracket are sexually inexperienced, and are worried about their orientation and what their friends will think. But a couple people are arguing about this in my class.

What are your opinions?

Not sure. All I know is, growing up with an older brother who is gay, I never saw a Playboy lying around his room. Not that that means a whole lot, but I think that you know at an early age(like 12) which sex you are more attracted to.Have a hard time believing that being "inexperienced" would lead you to think sexual thoughts of the same sex unless you were already attracted to that sex to begin with. I think people just don't want to admit that their child could be(or is) gay so they throw a "statistic" like this out there so they can "blame" it on being "sexually inexperienced".

Some people enter that confused/curious state and some don't. It's not one or the other.
