Type Superman.com in the google search engine to find out any info about the man of steel's influence on American society. Personally, I think Superman symbolizes justice and heroism. I know that Superman first appeared in Action Comics in 1938. There was a Superman TV show in the 50's with George Reeves. The first superman motion picture was in 1978 starring Christopher Reeve.
