I'm staying in Hong kong and couldn't help notice the difference in body shapes. I'm an average build South African but tend to always stand out from the crowd. Is it the difference in eating habits?

Not even genetics. Food and daily habits are the best explanation. Did you know American soldier uniforms have increased in size consistently for the past 50 years? That cannot be explained by genetics, only by food (which is now enriched with vitamins and minerals) and more sports, etc. In China, food variety is good, but it is not massively enriched with vitamins, so the people there don't have the extra boost.
