Length of pregnancy is short in hamsters, lasting only 15 to 16 days. Just before delivery, the expectant mother will become restless and may discharge a small amount of blood from her vulva. Do not handle or disturb the expectant mother at this time. When my hamsters had babies they would begin arranging their bedding into nests. I would make sure I put their house in the cage when they started doing this. Just an FYI....If you keep some of the babies make sure to seperate the brothers and sisters, hamsters can mate at about 10 weeks or so and will inbreed.

I think they'll start living outside of their house(if they have one) and start making a hole in the bedding, then piling up bedding around the place.
You can pick up the hamster by the neck part and see if they have feeding thingies. If she gets really fat one day, chances are, she's having the babies soon.

If the mother-to-be is a dwarf hamster, she will sometimes drive the male away from the nest when the birth is about to occur. This is normal, and he will be permitted to come back once the pups are a little older. In the case of Syrian hamsters, the male will not take part in raising the young as they are kept separately. However, dwarf males will often assist the mother, bringing her food, sitting on the nest to keep it warm, and tracking down wayward young.

Around 4 weeks I believe. Most females will get a little nasty and just want to be left alone-which you should do. If you have a male in the cage with her then remove him, or he'll kill the babies if they come. And, you should have the sexes separated anyways, because you're going to have a ton of hamsters other wise. Also, know that after the babies are 4 weeks old they can make their mom pregnant as well. Please be responsable and separate the sexes. I highly doubt you'll be able to keep/find homes for all the babies.
