I don't know if it was mean-was your friend one of the bereaved, or were any of them within hearing? It qualifies as extremely tactless for sure.

It's just because some people view death as a great loss and probably cannot figure out why you would want to deal with 'grieving' family of the client.
I think it's a good investment as well.

People are oversensitive these days. They want the truth but only on the terms they decide. I am against being mean and hurtful. Let's say a guy wants to break up with his girlfriend because she is unaffectionate and uncaring. Now, he doesn't want to hurt her. Should he refuse to call her and avoid her? Should he start dating someone else and not tell her, stringing her along? Should he lie? No.
So let's say he tells her that she is wrong for him, that he wants someone who is better at handling intimacy and sex, and she flips. Well, the truth can hurt and disappoint, but it is the truth. Sometimes, in life, you aren't going to win.

Because truth is truth! it's straight to the point. It's black and white. Not all people want to hear jus that. Some tends to prefer life lived in some illusions so as to reduce the impact of harsh realities.

We might feel sorry for those who died. They die and we make money. At the same time someone's grieving their loss. Such a sentence might be sensitive to most people even though its kind of funny.
