As the number one team in the NBA this year, I think the Mavericks have to be really careful not to repeat the same mistake that the Pistons made last year. Being number one and taking it for granted is a sure fire recipe for elimination. Pistons got surprised by the Heat and got eliminated before they woke up. Mavericks thought they had the championship and what happened? Four losses in a row. Mavericks are THE team that others will want to eliminate more than anyone else this year. But I do think they are good enough to take it all. As a Suns fan, I sure hope they don't.

Yes, my Mavericks are good enough to win the championship this year. Yes they can win it all. In my totally unbiased opinion they are the best team in basketball this year. Top opponents in the playoffs will be Phoenix and San Antonio. Phoenix doesn't play defense. In the playoffs defense is necessary. So Dallas eliminates them. Now we come to San Antonio. This team always makes the playoffs hard for the Mavericks. But we can beat them and we should do so this year it will take all 7 to do it though. In the finals I think it will be Dallas just because we want it more. A LOT MORE. Go Mavs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sure they are good enough to make it to the end, but frankly speaking, the chances for that are little bit less for them than for Phoenix Suns. They are just too fragile in my opinion.
Dallas is too-much Dirk-dependant. If anything goes wrong with him to the end of season or in the play-offs, they haven't got even the slightest chance to win the championship. On the other hand, Phoenix has so many great players incorporated into one great team that even if something happens and one of the leading players like Marion, Nash or Stoudemire is out for the rest of the season, they could still do it. That's the big difference between them. Spurs this year are not so much good like in previous years. Yes, Duncan & Co. could still take the ring this year and it won't be counted as a surprise, but somehow I have a feeling that it won't happen.

Yes, they're good enough, but first they have to beat tough teams in their conference as the Suns and the Spurs as well as the Heat (if Wade comesback 100%) and the Pistons as probable opponents in the finals. I personally think that if Wade doesn't comeback 100% the Mavs will win it all. This team is highly motivated after losing the championship last year and that's their only goal in mind. Lead by Dirk Nowitzki one of the best players in the league this team has lots of chances of getting their first ring in franchise history.

Yeah of course they can, there headed toward another interstate battle with San Antonio. They have been fuming! The Spurs defense will shut down the Suns in the 2nd round and then its on again for young and old.
