Electronics, interpersonal skills, directions, science and math to name a few? What does eveyone think? Do men and women have different strengths and weaknesses or are they the same?

Men and women can be taught the exact same things at the exact same skill level and some will be better at one thing than another. It has nothing to do with male/female relations just proclivity for being more adept at something. I know women who are better than men at carpentry and men who are better than women at sewing. But I also know two men who are both carpenters and one is better than the other. And two women who sew but one is better than the other. It's all about aptitude, not orientation.

I completely disagree with the other responses.

Men and women are fundamentally different, and as a result have fundamental proclivities towards excelling in different areas. Can they both become carpenters? Yes. Can they both become mathematicians? Yes. Can they both become diplomats? Yes.

Will a man learn the fine art of diplomacy as quickly as a woman? Will a woman learn to wire a house as quickly as a man?

I'd argue no. Having different skills and being different creatures is what makes the genders attracted to one another. Neither is better or worse, skilled or less skilled, smarter or dumber than the other. We're just different.

Women are better at approaching things holistically and reading nuance and making connections where there are seemingly none. Men are better at logical construct, blueprints and compartmentalization. Fields that draw on these strengths are naturally easier for the respective gender to excel at.

Gender is not an issue in terms of intelligence and work-related skills. It is because we assign certain tasks to certain people. I favour more women in mechanics, the trades, security and other areas.

I see no reason to conclude that a woman is a better parent than a man. Most women are excellent parents, but I have known some to be rather questionable. It is about character and personal responsibility, which is not about gender and cannot be excused because of gender.

I agree with Amy-everyone has the same ability to learn but different aptitudes, regardless of gender.

it depends on how well learned you are about these subjects. some women can build a house better than a man. some can drive better, etc. it all depends on how much you've practiced and how much you know and learned. it has nothing to do with your sex.
