***some people DO rest in there...have u not seen the ones that don't come out for an hour?

It cracks me up whilst travellers ask for the bathing room. as though they intend to do their ablutions between the soup and the fish!!! LOL! In Britain they simply ask fot the rest room.Or the 'lavatory - which i think of is particularly humorous!!! Australia too. i think of the U. S. has subject concerns with actual applications so we would desire to continuously use euphemisms.LOL!

You hear that mostly in America. We have all become so preoccupied with being politically correct and trying not to offend anyone that half of the stuff we say doesn't make any sense.

Well Glen ...your very profound tonight...I know the answear to this...My husband named them restrooms because when he enters it is quit a retreat for him...he has a selection of reading materials and even a hand held yahzee game...he sits and stays awhile...it is a rest for him.... ok?

The word restroom is a euphemism, an expression used by someone who wants to be less offensive, to who ever he is speaking to. Some women's restroom/lounge have chaise lounges, couches even chairs in them.
