Hey!

I am going to see some friends and family, I would lilke to bring them each gift bags filled with goodies specifically from my state, I would also like to make them a quilted runner.

If you were to get this gift. Would you prefer a runner for your table or a square for the center of your table? Which shape?

I received a quilt runner from a friend for Christmas and I loved it, I am not a crafty or country style either...this quilt is very cute (dependent on the fabric-ofcourse), and I thought I would make it for my friends too.

I'm a a weaver & I'd go with the runner. I have a friend who owns a gift shop & she has been asking me for woven table runners that she can sell, so there must be more demand for those.

With no offense meant at all, why not make both, but create them depending on the gift receivers individual, personal likes..or dislikes. OR expend the energy creating, to offer both to the same party?

Runners, for tables work best on a rectangular table, and can be very elegant, or very "Homey" You might even create place mats/napkins to coordinate? A "Square" can work also, on any shaped table and at most any size. On a square table for example, IF the cover is large enough it can be placed on the diagonal so that its corners hang over the edges. On a Round table it adds contrast in the form or two different shapes, together.

It's also a very personal, caring thing you want to do, which is great, but If I was doing the same, I might try to research what might work best, or be most accepted by each individual.

Good On ya though, in any case.

A Quilt very often becomes an heirloom piece, and rarely are they rejected.

I would actually prefer a quillow. A quilt that can be folded into a pillow.
