One full pill pack. But remember, the pil doesn't protect you from STDs....best to use a condom too.

You should be on the pill for a full month before you are fully protected from pregnancy. Just remember that the pill does not protect you from STD's. Use a condom during the first month on pills and for at least one week after a missed pill! Also remember that some antibiotics and other prescription medication can reduce the effectivness of the pill and you should tell you doctor about any medications you are taking to see if they could effect your brand of contreception. Good luck!

It takes about a month for it to be come effective because your body is adjusting itself to the chemicals in the birth control pills that offset your hormones.

The very first month of the pill I was told to use another form of contraception for the first 14 days.

About three months. Always consult a doctor, every woman is different.
