Oh wow, at first I thought you were asking the dumbest question ever. Then I clicked on it and read the rest of it.

Actually you don't need a driver's license to buy liquor, you just need an ID that proves you're over 21. Driver's licenses are the most common form of ID, but there's plenty of other ones. State ID cards, military ID cards, passports, etc.

Each is a different license for a different purpose. A better question is: Why does bars have parking lots if you're not supposed to drink and drive?

Because you need a driver's licence to drive a car which then you can buy beer to drink and drive all you want to. I also wouldn't recommend you drink and drive because you could get pulled over by the cops for drinking and driving.

That is interesting isn't it! It's interesting, especially since it's so easy to make your own alcohol with yeast and 100% fruit juices with no preservatives in them or malt and dextrose for beer. That's a good question!

It doesn't necessarily have to be a driver's license. It can be a state I.D. card or a passport.
