No it's not the only way to live in your car. It's also not the safest way to live. You would be more safe with your doors locked in a house or anything else besides a car.

I do not live in a car, and I do not feel 100% safe in one. I'm afraid the car will blow up if the wrong thing breaks. Other then that I feel safe since it's metal and not fiber glass like most cars now a days.

it definitly is the safest way of all. there are areas where you can even leave your house doors unlocked int eh day...but of course there is still that slight risk of beign robbed.
it would be tough to live in a car, but i think it's definitly do'able.
there's actually a little video on youtube.com of a guy living out of his car.

I only lock my car doors when I'm driving in the city.....where I live, the only thing you have to watch out for is the cows and the cornfields......

well I Don't live in there. My mom it's so funny we'll be at a red light and people cross and she locks all the doors. It's pretty hilarious.

I live in a very safe area. Half the time I leave the keys in the ignition, that way I know where they are.
