Give him prunes. They make it in baby food.

It is hard to know what is causing the constipation in the first place...have you changed something in their diet recently? Or added more then the recommended for formula (if you bottle feed) mayby it is something in the solid food you may be giving him if it is a constant thing and dosn't go away with treatment seek medical advice. My kids went through constipation and it wasn't a major worry for me they sure made up for it when things got moving again they are all healthy and happy!!

good luck with it all I hope bubby is better soon.

Here's what not to do...the BRAT diet....no: Bananas, Rice cereal, Applesauce, or Toast...this is the diet that my doc recommended to me for when my baby had really bad diarehea....if it were me...i would just stick to my regular feeding schedule and try to add some more liquids in...mix some extra formula or milk to cereal or foods...don't overdo the prune juice (baby's need to keep in their nutrients, not just send them right out the door!) you'll find what works best for your baby...so many get this way, don't overreact! but call the md if it gets really bad :)

All the things like prunes, applesauce, apple juice, lots of water, ect....you can also put a teaspoon of Karo white syrup in your baby's bottle with their formula. It works wonders..I have 3 grown children and 6 grandchildren and they have all been fine with this remedy.

Lots of Luck!!!!

The only thing I ever had to do with my son was feed him baby food prunes... by the next day, we were good to go!

Also try to avoid too much bananas, rice cereal and teething crackers.. without slipping in some fiber in there to counteract the effects of these foods.

The best thing is a little Karo syrup in his/her bottle. Keeps things flowing. I'd try 1/2 teaspoon at first if that doesn't work try 1 teaspoon.

My mom always put a little bit of kayro syrup in a bottle of watter and gave that to us. It ALWAYS did the trick. You can get it at just about any grociery store that sells maple or any other kind of syrup. Good luck.

Grape juice always worked way better for my daughter than even prunes. Every kid is different..try all the suggestions and see what works best for you!

More fluids or fruits will help. They have prunes in baby food and that will work also.
