Will this affect the accuracy of measuring Rx?

there is zero error,note that reading,if it is right to zero then subtract that from final current reading.if it is left to zero then add it to thr final reading.

Any acurate galvanometer is affected by surrounding, therefore the person conducting the test must CALIBRATE it before each and every use. Usually there is a botton or a small potentiometer looking knob that must be turned in order to calibrate the meter! Naturally if your meter shows anything but zero, it is not going to give an accurate measurement.

You should be able to zero it out. If not, record what it is and adjust your readings. In theory, it wouldn't effect accuracy, but I rather adjust a reading with zero than with something else.
