It seems the thing to do is to grant money and benefits to minorities is more politically correct for whit rich men... But it's not the end of the world.. Everyone who is rich can pick who they want to give Thor wealth to. There are many minorities that do need it so I don't hol it against him too much. But yes it does concern me a bit.

Me, too. I have often wondered his overinterest in helping Africans, in seemingly hopeless situations. I can understand the European attitude of "forgive the debt", where nations given money with repayments are forgiven the repayments, but why spend billions more, where medical research, and maybe teams of professionals could be sent in at less expense with much better results. They could stay, and study the needs, and apply direct assistance to these people. If the intended recipients can't eat or survive without disease or war (including genocide), how can they get to the intended places of education?
A few million dollars could get a base group of professional organized and working at this. To spend a year and over a million dollars to produce the "right" sound effect on the computer which lasts 4 seconds, as his team recently did; a team could coordinate a plan for the basic services in the homeland of the intended recipients. They could recruit medical school and engineering graduates to contribute maybe two years, build their skills and resume, and follow a plan made in Redmond, Washington.
I myself would love some of the monetary, thank you.assistance Mr. William Henry Gates III gives away, and I do need it for my family. Lately, though he has said he is refraining from the allout spending he did in the late 1990's, which was absolute squandering of some funds.
Asians dominate the West Coast and he may feel some competition, and doesn't want to contribute to the competition.
I do agree with you 100%, in some years, i think his contributions are an excellent example of reverse discrimination, thank you.

The answer to this question is so obvious it confuses many including me....... well I had to think into it but my guess its that he did it because he knows whites and asians, on average, are the smartest of the bunch. So he is trying to even things out. By doing so he is promoting diversity and more importantly creativity. There are many people with unorthodox ways of thinking, creatively and intellectual that have great potential but unfortuantely many dont have the funding to go to college and develop their hidden talents...... Its not like whites and asians dont have this... but its just that Bill Gates understands that other races also have something to give to this world.... In short, he knows whites and asians dont need that much help, as much as other races need it :)

Well, if he would have given it to the white people he would be deemed a racist and only looking out for the "already rich white people" so he has to cover his bases and give it to minorities and other countries and not the whites.

Statistically, blacks simply do not do as well in school. Not racist its a fact. Gates was trying to redress the balance a bit, as one of the reasons cited is economic disadvantages.
