A little over the "full" line is OK (check with engine OFF). If 1" over the "full" line, drain some out and recheck.

Hi next time you add oil to your car have some scott towel handy , pull out the dip stick in the motor and check the level there is a mark on the stick if it is low add some oil then check again wait a few seconds for the oil to hit the bottom of the motor if it needs more add more make sure your car is on a level area, the best thing you can do is get someone to show you and get some other pointers too like checking water levels, your washer bottle etc , i dont think adding to much will hurt this time but i wouldnt do it all the time also if your car is using oil you might want to get it checked out to make sure there is not a problem with the motor this is usually a sign something is wrong,,good luck

A little too much is usually okay. Overfilling significantly (by a quart or more but it varies by car) can cause the oil the froth up inside your engine and damage your head gasket.
The easiest way to remove excess oil is to buy a siphon pump at Walmart or an autoparts store from the automotive section. Push the tube of the pump down into the oil dipstick tube and pump out some oil until the dipstick reads a normal amount.

If you added oil today and Saturday, you definitely didn't add too much, your car obviously needed the extra. (If you did, you can just let it burn off drving anyway.) However, if you need to add it that frequently, there's probably a problem. Check under the car to see if theres any oil leak. Also, if your car is older and in not the best shape it could mean the engine is running hot and is consuming too much oil. If it seems to run hot, get it checked out ASAP.

There's a gadget called a "dipstick" which tells you whether your oil is filled to the right level. Only way to know is to check it.
Pull it out, wipe it with a clean rag/towel to clear it, put it back in all the way, and pull it back out again. A tiny bit of overfilling is OK but if it's significantly over, it's likely to damage the engine. Take it to the nearest oil changers and simply change the oil. (cheapest way to resolve it.)
DO NOT check the oil while the engine's running or right after shutting it off, because the oil's still up in the engine doing its oil thing. Give it 2 minutes for gravity to pull it back down into the oil pan.

Yeah, no doubt you did. Go under the car in the rear you will see a huge tank. Look for a plug and unscrew. Let it run out until you see it changing color. Best wishes and good luck to you.
