Cramps are caused by all the things you do during that month. Depression, picking up heavy objects, getting mad all the time and not eating enough hot meals. I like Tylenol extra strenght to get rid of mine. My-idol doesn't help that much.

I suffered the same way from about 17 to 27. The first 2-3 days, had to wear 2 tampax and a pad (about the size of Wyoming). Then change every 3 hours.

The cramps were so bad, I walked hunkered over. Missed work every month. And forget about the sex thing for at least a week.

A new ob/gyn diagnosed endimetriosis and explained it to me. Mine was so severe, he said I would never have children. He put me on special BC pills that had different balances than what is ordinary. They helped immensely. Also, I did a lot of what the other posters recommended. Once I knew what it was, it was manageable.

PS - I have a 24-year old son!

Be leave it or not going for a walk helps allot but use can use a hot water bottle,,,,,hot bath,,,,,Advil is great to use because it takes any swelling down in our womanly areas but it also helps with water retention which causes cramps ..so big deal you cant get high off them or anything so why not take them...also drink lots of water..some people think if you drink lots of water than you Will retain it..so untrue the more you drink the more you will get rid of it

Something that helps me is a heating pad because I am one of those whom get really sick when on my period. Although I usually take midol or extra strength tylenol along with the heating pad this seems to be the only thing that works for me.

it all has to do with family history. i used to throw up all the time from cramps until i started taking yasmin and now i barely have them. heres a secret: when you have cramps...lay down and get one of your friends to push on the two bones on your lower back right above your butt with her palms...and HARD. it will hurt like hell when she's doing it but your cramps will go away for a really long time. its amazing. the guy who gives me massages does this for me when im on my period and it works like a charm :] also stay away from caffeine. it makes cramps worse. and working out helps cramps a lot.

ummm.........this may sound wierd or it may not work for u...but really dark low sugar chocolate works REALLY well, if u don't have any, go and buy some. i always have a ready store :) if that doesn't work, try herbal tea or just lying down for a while if u have the time, but chocolate usually does the trick...but REAL chocolate, not hersheys or milk chocolate

You may want to talk to your Gynecologist about endimetriosis. A lot of women have it and it goes undetected.

yoga

Not AFTER it's already a problem, but on a regular basis, every week.
