If giving pills is a difficulty then ask the vet to get a compunding pharmacist to make the drug right into a paste to be put in the foodstuff or a paste that is absorbed with the aid of the floor. With the blood tests get the 1st one 3 weeks after meds then much less oftentimes. I even have an old skinny cat. yet she is comfotable, nonetheless eats and makes use of her muddle tray. The day that ameliorations we can placed her to sleep. we don't over medicate or look at because of fact she hates it. merely pallative care and protecting her gentle now. If she needs blood tests, i supply her a gas anaesthetic first. This works properly for her. (each 6 months) solid success

I was anemic and had to take iron pills. They also told me that green veggies have iron in them. I would do just what the doctor tells you. Iron pills work really well. And it beats the heck out of being anemic, because that feeling sucks. Don't get "tired" of them.

You won't "gain" blood, you are fortifiying the blood you already have. The human body can only hold so much blood.
Foods rich in iron include:
Broccoli
Clams
Pork Liver
Oysters
Chicken Liver
Mussels
Beef Liver
Canned beans
Baked potato with skin
Enriched pasta
Canned asparagus

I don't think any pills are going to make you gain blood. The body creates that naturally. You could try to eat things that are higher in iron, though.
