The dilima..U needed the knowledge then that U have now...but didn't know that U needed to know something different then...now that U know things, U don't have the body to carry out what U now know that U wanted to do with your body then. Is it OK to pretend U R young when U know that U R not?...like watch music videos and pretend...like dress wild in your own house...like cry when U realize that U did not appreciate what U had when U were young, now that U R not...U wish people could look at U and see who U really are, not what U look like now...and U want to tell the young people not to take what they have for granted...cause they will look like U someday. So U say what is the question? Will U be old and wish U did something different?

From experience i have learned to come to terms with those things in my life that i once believed were defining factors concerning who i was. For years i labored under the delusion that my death HAD to be glorious, like hitting a Mack Truck head on while doing 100 on my harley, or being the object of a police stand-off with me holding two guns against about 50 or more, and going downin a blaze of glory.
Thank God my thinking has changed to something much more civil. When that time comes i want it to be as peaceful as possible. Besides, i'm just spending the remainder of the time i have been granted attempting to bring more love into the world, promote more healing, and do something for others instead of just or me. Others can do as they see fit, but my purpose is clear to THE One who knows it, and i simply wish to fulfill it, even though i still make mistakes; but i have learned that "with God ALL things ( usually good ) are possible, and that time will tell. My granny passed this on to me, and i have no doubt that others have seen or heard it too. One hundred yrs from now it won't matter what kind of car you drove, where you lived, how much money you made, what you looked like, or how you dresses. One hundred yrs from now what will matter most is whether or not you made a difference in the life of a child ( but time has revealed to me that it doesn't necessarily mean a small or young child.)

I am wonderig what you consider old.
I am 56 years old and sure I have some regrets, but mostly I look back and see my life as it has progressed to become the me I am today. I am very happy with the me I am today. There is much I can't do anymore....I wouldn't risk snow skiing, I don't run anymore, I can't have a baby, I can't do a summersault anymore. Most of this stuff are things I don't need to do because I do other things.

In some ways I am better. I have more confidence and know myself very well. I have itme now to develop my creative/artistic side. I have met some facinating people the last few years My children are grown up and on their own I think my age is wonderful. I love the poetry I write. I love being a grandma. I love that passion is better at this age.
I love the wisdom I have learned. I love it that I can deal with life better. I love it that even at the age of 56 I am still attractive to men of all ages.

My body has definatly given me problems, but I compensate with a positive young energy. I am almost 60 freekn' years old and I am ok, better than ok with that.

I agree with the statment that the youth need to take advantage of their youth. And enjoy each phase of their life.

well i myself am a teen, and you think that most teens would regret things. the way i see it, you are regreting the things you have done and wish you could go back in time and fix them. But the thing ive figured out is that i am perfectly happy with myself and i love who i am now. So do you love who you are right now? Because if you do that means you have a high self-esteem,which then brings up the question, why regret?

Why regret if you are perfectly happy with yourself? why would you like to like to go back and do something different? It might seem good, but the mistakes you made build character, and you become an overall more mature person the more mistakes you realize.

so dont regret what you did because you are now the person you want to be(hopefully). Just be happy with yourself.

oh, and if you ever want to help yourself identify situations where you can prosper in then this is my philosophy which i believe you should tell everyone:

There are 2 types of people in this world, the ones who do one thing in everyone of their lives and the ones who do everything in one of their lives.

so i hope you will be #2 in the philosophy

You know what? I wish you'd written this as a poem ... it's intriguing and ... well, that's what I wish. But, you didn't so here's my answer to your "Will you be old and wish you did something different?"

I *am* old and I have no regrets.

Life is what you make of it ... the good and the not-so-good. My body hurts, I move slower than I did, I have less energy but you know what? I still live life ... I still am young-at-heart.

I enjoy each day and each experience ... that doesn't mean I like each experience. It just means I know that there are lessons to be learned, joy to be experienced, suffering to be my teacher and hopefully, I still have years ahead of me to celebrate life!

GOODNESS!!

Isn't it a terrible waste of remaining youth to pine over the wasted youth of the past? Your in danger of repeating the same mistake. Break out of the loop once and for all!!! Make the best of today, then you'll never have worry about wasting another day.

Please spell out "you" it's very distracting, especially with it capitalized.

I think you should stop regretting. People know what they are getting into in just about every case. Smoking, you pretty much have to live on the moon to not know it damages your skin and causes cancer. Drugs, obviously bad for you. Dying your hair too much.... The list continues on and on...

You can live your life in sole preperation for the future, but when will you ever be able to cherish who you are?

Youth is wasted on the young who are too dumb and stupid to realize the true values of life. Once they learn, they look up and they are old - like you.

Just slow your butt down, sit back and smile. Be glad your still breathing. Give pearls of wisdom to the young and dumb.

You are worrying too much.

Don't follow the crowd, express yourself in your own unique way, your own personal style. Your life is yours, not theirs.

Cheers!
