Why am I so attracted to this guy who keeps getting arrested?

I like this guy, and I've known him for years. He's 10 years older than I am, and is constantly getting thrown in jail or prison. Mostly for drugs, sometimes alcohol,etc. I like to think I like him *despite* the fact that he's been in jail so many times but for some reason, every time he comes back after being gone for a few months, and tells me he just got out of prison...I get a little turned on. Whats wrong with me?? I mean he's nice, so its not like im attracted to him because he's a jerk..

who asked you to judge me? you sound a little salty. Maybe because men who keep getting arrested can get women but you cant? He's not destroying anybody, its marijuana he's getting arrested for, smoking, not dealing, and 90% of the population does marijuana.

*sigh*...Im totally freaking amused by the first answer. Dont worry about him. Obviously he's got something up his butt. what exactly is "Marijuan"? and "popualatio"? He must be the decent "ecuated" guy he's referring to in his answer. (By the way....Most educated people can actually spell the word educated..just a little heads up on that for the next time you decide to insult someones "ecuation" level)

Anyway...Being attracted to " bad boys" doesn't mean you're a bad un "ecuated" person, it means you're human. We've all been attracted to people that weren't perfect. For instance, the person who left the first answer said something about his girlfriend, if he really has one, obviously she has horrible taste in men.

You said he's nice to you, so if he is, and he's not harming anyone, I don't see anything wrong with that. He's a nice guy who has the bad boy image attached to him, sounds like most womens perfect man. (yeah, we all like the bad boys, for some reason its sexy)

Its just the old bad boy thing. Just don't let him use you, and ignore the jerk who answered first.

The best way to deal with it is to take a dispassionate look at the guy, as if you'd never met him before. Then you will likely see that he's someone who just can't get his life together and is actually kind of pathetic.

I think that everyone is programmed to like a certain type of partner. I, myself, am attracted to punk or semi-goth guys. I have tried to stay away from them and try out new scenes of people but i keep going straight back to that group of guys...but i think ive finally found a keeper. So go with your heart, its not a bad thing that bad boys turn you on b/c they do me too and im sure other girls...even some that arent willing to admit it!!

You, like so many other people like being with the bad boy/girl. It makes you feel like your doing dangerous things and taking risks. I'm not judging, because I've been guilty of it myself. Sometimes we feel so mundane and boring, being with someone who is "safe." We want "adventure," and rebellion. But you do realize that this is a situation that will never do you any good?
