with false accusations of sexual harassment, what is the best strategy to counter this situation other than merely taking the abuse?

this happens a lot. do you have any witness's? have you talked to a Lawyer yet? i should point out that even if a woman says a man has sexual harassed her she would not really need much proof other then her word. i wish you luck

Cut off all ties with her and hit the road. If her threats come true the best case scenario is you go through a painful reputation destroying investigation, worst case scenario you are thrown in jail. A woman's word is gold in courts and will be taken over yours in a heartbeat even with no evidence or evidence to the contrary.

This guy got lucky as there are many men who have had their lives ruined by false accusations. This guy still went through hell even though there was no evidence against him but the word of the accuser and plenty of evidence that she was lying. So much for "you don't have to worry if you haven't done anything wrong." Remember when a woman accuses you of something like that you are guilty unless you can prove yourself innocent.

Did the guy do it? If he didn't then there's nothing to worry about. The guy can always disprove her accusation in court. The woman would need a witness or proof that the harassment really took place. Without those two, there's no case. The guy could file a counter suite for slander or oral defamation. But if the guy did it & there are witnesses or a solid proof of such an incident taking place, this guy better get a damn good lawyer.

THAT is sexual harrassment.

Document, document, document -- every single thing you can think of. Date, time, place, exactly what was said, and how you understood what was said. How it made you "feel".

Then, report it immediately in WRITING to your manager AND to HR. Make the first move.

Offense is the best defense.

If this is actually happening to you, I would suggest you get legal advice.

Most attorney's will give free consulations, and they can give you the best advice for how to protect yourself from unfounded accusations.

Hi take legal action on this matter before it comes back to bite you, this could ruin your reputation and cause so much grief for you now and in the future good luck

back off and steer clear my friend, unfortunately, no one will believe you unless you have 324 billion witnesses and a signed confession. These kinds of skank make it rougher for those ladies who really suffer from these things.

Write everything down according to date and who was present. Ask other people what they remember and write that down too.
