I got married to my girlfriend in Cyprus last August 2006, shes from Israel and im from the USA, she cheated on me a month after and i have proof.......
#1 Was my marriage legal since it was in another country?
#2 Can She get any money from me? ( We never lived together by the way )
#3 How can i make it that i was never married to the courts?

You really need to talk to an attorney that knows international law!! Don't be cheap about it either...a good attorney is an investment in your future.

U can try for an annulment since you guys never lived together, but she could fight it. She shouldn't get any money, since you have no children together and you were only together for 7 months. I don't think you can erase the marriage in the courts no matter what, unless you can find a loophole b/c of the Cyprus location. Good Luck!

1. The marriage was legal.
2. Once the marriage is consummated, its pretty much a done deal.
3. You may get off without paying her any money because you guys dont have any shared property or assets, you have no children. Alimony is based on the assumption of support so if you weren't supporting her then you should be okay.
But you shoud consult an attorney.

You need to contact the courts where you are living to get the actual facts so there won't be any surprises. If she wants, she can do whatever she wants as your wife regardless to the country the license was received. She may have married you just to get into the states, but you will have to pay the consequences and be more careful next time. If you've never lived together, it can be taken that you married her to help get her in the states, so be careful still on how you present this if things get complicated.

Ummm... I would get ahold of a really good lawyer, but from what I know I dont think you two were ever legally married (did you sign marriage papers and recieve a certificate in the mail from anywhere in the US) Is she legal to live in the US without you being married too her? There are too many questions that are unanswered so please consult with a real lawyer. If you have proof that she cheated on you then I dont believe she has rights to any monetary settlements!

Why did you marry her? What is your proof? Unless you caught her don't believe anything you hear. Yes, some women can definitely screw you over, They are expert at how to get what they want in court! Get an attorney that knows the ineternational laws, sometimes the first visit is free.

Yes the marriage is legal.U.S. law states you can get an annulment within the first year.So as long as there are no children which are or were a product of the marriage there isn't much she can get from you.

I would call a divorce lawyer for this one. Find out she is truly not worth your time.
